ABOUT US

OUR TEAM

At Tommy Terrific’s, we’re committed to excellence—not just in what we offer our customers but also in how we treat our team. That’s why we prioritize quality of life for our employees and embrace the principles of sustainable capitalism.

Our team members earn a living wage because we believe in supporting them and their families. This approach enhances well-being, fosters loyalty, and helps us maintain a low turnover rate. In fact, many of our employees have been with us since the very beginning—a testament to the positive work environment we’ve built.

We know it’s possible to pay employees fairly while running a successful, profitable business. It’s a win-win for everyone. If you’re ready to join a team that values its people, we’d love to hear from you! Complete our online application today to be considered for employment.

Why Local matters?

Tommy was born in Dallas. Pleasant Grove to be exact. Can’t get more local than that! His car wash “career “ began serendipitously in Tucson, AZ and weaved through Albuquerque, NM, Denver, Co, Jacksonville, Fla, and good ol’ Plano , TX, as he ran multiple locations for various owners and investment groups. In 1998 Tom assembled a few brave individuals to invest in his first location  (their moola and his sweat equity)  and, with hard work , a little luck, and an amazing group of employees,  turned a money loser into a money maker!   Tom has built four more locations since  and he and wife, Kim, raised their three children in Collin County and have participated in all aspects of the community. Living here they care deeply about their customers and their reputation amongst them. In fact, many of their original customers who helped them get off the ground at their first location on 380 & 75 in McKinney ( 30 years ago)  are still loyal customers at their Flagship location on Coit Rd in Plano. They are one of the few family owned and family run businesses left. Tommy says, their business has flourished because of three simple things:

  • Be proud of what you do and demonstrate it daily.
  • Pay your staff a living wage
  • Never stop improving

Pretty simple stuff. No rocket science here. Just treat your customers and employees like you would like to be treated.

green practices

Green Clean

Tommy’s uses pH-balanced, biodegradable shampoos in our cleaning process to minimize environmental impact.

Icon 2

Water Capture

Our stores capture about 99% of water used during the wash process. That water is then recycled by the city’s sewage treatment facility for later use. When you wash your vehicle at home, not only do you use approximately three times as much water as a commercial conveyor car wash, the dirty water and chemicals from the soaps and cleaners drain into storm sewers, polluting our local lakes and streams.

Landscaping

Our landscaping is comprised mostly of native plants to help minimize the amount of water needed to keep them healthy, happy and looking their best. Texas is often rain-deprived and water-scarce during the hot summer months and we want to make sure we are not wasting a valuable resource by planting vegetation better suited for wetter climates. And hey y’all, the Lone Star State has plenty of natural, native beauty to offer!
